Creating SMS Campaigns

A text campaign involves sending a single SMS or MMS to your recipients, either immediately or by scheduling it to send later.

There two types of message campaigns you can create and send, a SMS campaign which is limited to 160 characters per text and MMS campaign which you can send more than 160 characters per text with multimedia. MMS messages can contain 1600 characters and up to 10 multimedia urls with total no more than 5MB and only available with your own custom Textable Number.

Create and Send Campaigns

To create a text campaign:

  1. Click SMS Campaigns under Smart Send navigation.
  2. Click New SMS Campaign button.
  3. On the next page, enter a name for the campaign and choose the campaign type.
  4. Type your message to send in the Message box. You can use personalization by selecting them from the Insert Tag field. You can also choose a multimedia from your Media Library or an Emoji to be inserted into your message.
  5. We recommend using the Shorted URL button to shorted your URLs inside your message to make your message shorter.
  6. Click Next to choose your recipients for your campaign.

 

Choose Campaign Recipients

If you've already set up one or more subscriber lists, they will be available under Mailing Lists. If a list has segments, you can send specifically to them by clicking the arrow next to the list name, then selecting the appropriate segments. 

 

Send now or Schedule for later

You can choose to either send the campaign now or schedule it to send later. You can also get notified by email or text when your campaign has been sent, by entering your email or mobile into the confirmation input.

Duplicating Campaigns

Duplicating a draft or sent campaign is handy if you need to send the same campaign to different groups of subscribers, or if you only want to make small tweaks for your new campaign.

To make a copy of an email campaign:

  1. Click SMS Campaigns under Smart Send navigation.
  2. Select Clone from the action dropdown next to the campaign you like to duplicate.

The duplicate will be added to your list of drafts with (copy) added to the end of the campaign name. If you make more duplicates they will be called copy 2, copy 3, and so on.

After you have created a duplicate, click on Edit from the action dropdown next to the campaign to open the campaign to change any of the campaign details for the new version of the campaign.

 

Delete Campaigns

To delete an email campaign:

  1. Click SMS Campaigns under Smart Send navigation.
  2. Select Delete from the action dropdown next to the campaign you like to delete.
