Creating Email Campaigns
An email campaign involves sending a single email to your recipients, either immediately or by scheduling it to send later.
There are five types of email campaigns you can create and send with our application. All types can be sent as HTML or plain text, which are the only two formats we support.
- Regular Campaign
- A/B Subject Line
- A/B From Email/Name.
- A/B Email Content
- A/B Mailing List.
Create and Send Campaigns
To create an email campaign:
- Click Email Campaigns under Smart Send navigation.
- Click New Email Campaign button.
- On the next page, enter a name for the campaign and choose the campaign type then click Next.
- Fill out the details on the page, making sure to choose a good "From" name. You can use personalization in the subject line fields. With the preheader text, you can summarize or provide a teaser to the email in the inbox preview or leave blank and we'll add a excerpt from your template content.
- Select the template that you would like to use for the campaign, click Next to choose your recipients for your email campaign.
Choose Campaign Recipients
If you've already set up one or more subscriber lists, they will be available under Mailing Lists. If a list has segments, you can send specifically to them by clicking the arrow next to the list name, then selecting the appropriate segments.
Send now or Schedule for later
You can choose to either send the campaign now or schedule it to send later. You can also get notified by email or text when your campaign has been sent, by entering your email or mobile into the confirmation input.
Duplicating Campaigns
Duplicating a draft or sent campaign is handy if you need to send the same campaign to different groups of subscribers, or if you only want to make small tweaks for your new campaign.
To make a copy of an email campaign:
- Click Email Campaigns under Smart Send navigation.
- Select Clone from the action dropdown next to the campaign you like to duplicate.
The duplicate will be added to your list of drafts with (copy)
added to the end of the campaign name. If you make more duplicates they will be called copy 2
, copy 3
, and so on.
After you have created a duplicate, click on Edit from the action dropdown next to the campaign to open the campaign to change the campaign and sender details, the campaign content, or recipients for the new version of the campaign.
Delete Campaigns
To delete an email campaign:
- Click Email Campaigns under Smart Send navigation.
- Select Delete from the action dropdown next to the campaign you like to delete.
